The Mini Hoard is a durable detector and is waterproof up to 1m underwater. This means your little adventurer can safely search the beach and waterside, and it's no problem if the detector accidentally falls into the water. After an adventurous day of searching, the detector can also be completely rinsed off under the tap. The Mini Hoard has an armrest for more comfort when swinging the detector back and forth, a stand that keeps the Mini Hoard stable when set aside, a telescopic shaft that can be adjusted to a length of 65 to 90 cm, and a 15 cm / 6" search coil including protective dish. With its 15 kHz, the search coil provides an ideal search depth for children aged 4 to 8 years.
The Mini Hoard is very easy to use with just 2 buttons. The right button is used to turn the detector on and off and to turn iron discrimination on or off. The left button is the pinpoint button, to precisely locate where the object is. The clear display shows with emoticons whether it is an iron object and whether it is a non-iron object (precious metal). A sad smiley with thumbs down, for example, indicates an iron object like a nail, and a smiling smiley with thumbs up indicates a valuable object like gold or silver (non-ferrous). You can also read the depth of the object in 3 segments and with the battery indicator, you can see if the 2 AA batteries are still full or need to be replaced.
