Do I need headphones for metal detecting?
They’re not required, but highly recommended. Through the speaker you’re more likely to miss faint signals, especially in wind or near traffic.
Do all headphones fit every metal detector?
No. Wireless systems from XP, Garrett (Z-Lynk) and Quest work with specific detectors or transmitters. Wired headphones use a 6.3 mm or 3.5 mm plug, sometimes with an adapter. Each product page shows what it fits.
Which headphones are suitable for detecting in water?
Choose waterproof headphones, such as the Garrett AT or Vortex, the waterproof Nokta or Quest headphones, or the XP WS6 with waterproof earphones. Always check the rated depth.
